Exile in Orbit

Exile in Orbit is a hybrid-form chapbook about my relationship with my father. It’s an attempt to confront my loss, investigate his past, learn about the home he left behind when he fled from the communist regime in Bulgaria, and to test the reach of writing. By including some of his own poems and notes, I’ve created a sort of dialogue; a father-daughter collaboration.

I’m immeasurably grateful to my editor Jen Hyde of Small Anchor Press and Emily Brandt, Alex Cuff, and the No, Dear family for helping me bring this book into being! Patrick Delorey‘s design expertise turned it into the pleasing physical object it is.

Click on the image below to visit No, Dear Magazine and purchase a physical copy of Exile in Orbit. The second edition (December 2018) is now available! Alternatively, you can download it for a donation. Thank you so much! And don’t forget to check out No, Dear’s other offerings. Exile in Orbit is part of the TRANSFORMIGRATION series, which consists of three other arresting chapbooks.
